The Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities (AHSRU) is a voluntary association of universities that are both Hispanic-Serving Institutions as defined by Title V of the Higher Education Act and in the top 5% of universities in the United States for research, as determined by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.

As a national Latiné and equity-centered higher education association, the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) engages and aligns with multiple communities, partners, and stakeholders to advance our mission. Partners and collaborators include industry, governmental entities, foundations, Latiné colleges and universities, non-profits, and advocacy groups.

This Latina-led organization has steadily become an authority in this field, with a reputation as a national transformative leader and innovator in higher education by informing, organizing, and compelling action. In 2019, Excelencia in Education launched the Seal of Excelencia, an independent national certification for institutions intentionally serving Latino students while serving all.
