MAPA Advising
About the program
Typically course advising takes place outside the classroom. Maximizing Achievement through Preparedness and Advising (MAPA) Advising changes the traditional advising model by providing direct advising services within a classroom setting. Our trained MAPA advisers and student interns meet and strategize with instructional staff on how to set goals and better support students through academic challenges.
Goals
We work alongside your instructors and traditional advisors as part of a team to support your academic journey. We look for early signs that may signal you need additional support and listen closely to challenges you face inside and outside the classroom to create a roadmap of success together.
Who’s eligible?
You’re eligible for MAPA Advising if you are an undergraduate:
-
enrolled in the Collaborative Math 2 course
